New Delhi (CNN) — Police in eastern India have arrested a father and parents-in-law of a immature lady for allegedly blazing her and her baby lady alive.
The primary ground behind a Jan 30 conflict is suspected to be dowry-related, as purported by a kin of a passed woman, Jharkhand state military superintendent N.K. Mishra said.
The 3 suspects poured kerosene on Annu Devi, 22, and a baby lady during their encampment home in a state’s Dumka district and set them on fire, Mishra said.
The 1-year-old child died instantly, and a mom after succumbed to her injuries in a hospital, military said.
A justice has sent a 3 suspects to jail to wait trial, Mishra told CNN.
Asked either a fact that Devi gave birth to a lady was also a motive, Mishra said: “That could be a factor. But it was especially for dowry. Her family has pronounced in their censure she was tormented for income and other things.”
Devi married 3 years ago, Mishra said.
